In today's class, we were splited into two groups to have a glance on several articles from different websites. After searching up on the internet for a while, my group and I shared the details of what the articles we saw contained.
One thing which suprised me was that both the article my partner and I read couldn't be found on the website we searched up. Adding on, my friend who was seated next to me said that the detail of the article he found was mostly wrong copared to the article his partner had found. Other than this, some websites published the same issue, but the way they wrote was completely different. One had affirmed the issue, writing down possitively while the other criticized the article, using negative and strong expression giving the reader a bad impression of the situation. I believe the reason for this is because of the difference of the point of view. From one country, they could've have perceived a negative impact of the issue resulting in publishing a article stating non-positive details.
By the end of the lesson, my trust towards the media diminished. I thought that one look at the headline and the intro paragraph won't lead in understanding the whole truth of the issue. I personally want people judging the issue with limited media information to read other media articles to recognize the truth and change their minds.
