October 6th 2020 (My presentation date)

The time for me to present has finally came. Throughout this past one month,I have been observing and listening to my classmates. Although the deadline of creating the slides and the time given us to prepare was quite short, I managed to get the process done quickly by the help of my friends and the simple explanation of the overall outline from Mr.Paterson.   At first,I wasn't afraid and thought that the only thing I should do was to talk about the book like what the rest had done. But,  by the time I stood in front of the class, my heart started pounding and I felt extremely nervous. There were roughly 3 points which I was mostly thinking in mind which were to have eye-contact,movement during the presentation and trying not to say as much "uh" and "um". As I started to talk about the book, I thought that I did pretty much a great job in trying to have eye contact with the audiences and adjusting the voice volume so that my words doesn't get muffled by th...

Today was the fifth lesson for the blog presentation. I was expecting myself to present by today, but there were more people remaining than what I had imagined. All the people who presented today had big images, talked in loud voices and explained the book deeply in a short time. Because their presentation slides contained few words and were simple, it was understandable and kept me concentrated in their presentation. Besides Migusa, two students presented the same Harry Potter series book. Same as the two students who presented about "Lords of the Flies", the story world I could imagine changed a lot by hearing their two presentations. I haven't read Harry Potter series book that much, but it made me have a bit of interest in wanting to try out reading the book.

Today, we had the continuous lesson for the book presentation. I believe that those who had been in Mr.Paterson's lesson since last year have all finished their presentation by today. What made me suprised was that Migusa actually asked the audience to raise up their hands if they agreed to the question she asked. Nobody actually did this in the past presentation, so it was a new type of format of presenting. I think this had the affect of getting attention from people who weren't intersting much in the book and allowed the audience to be more concentrated in the presentation. Not just that, but she incorporated the link to the website and showed us her groups book website. I think I will be presenting in the next lesson, so I will be preparing for it.

Suprisingly, today we didn't do any presentations.  Instead, we were told that we are going to do a new project which is to create our own website about the book that we read after finishing all the presentation. We were divided into groups of three or fours and were informed to write the details of the book all the group members had read and edit them in one website. I'm still not done with my presentation, so I want to finish it as soon as possible so that I can get starting with the website making. My group members were Sara and Yonosuke. At first, we had dificulty figuring out how to edit the website but we eventually figured it out. We pasted the image of the book we read in the website, wrote down a short information about the book and started doing the things we could do until the lesson ended. Once I finish my presentation, I will self-reflect on my presentation, improve it and post the book review, slides and the video on the website.

Today,Michiru,Kosei,Sara,Nina and Sora had their presentation. I realized that "Lord of the Flies" was presented twice by Hirofumi and Sara. Although they presented the same book, their explanation for the author and the critiques were quite different, so it was interesting to understand the thoughts from the two different perspectives. Moreover, the summary of the story was nearly the same, but parts which weren't explained by one of them were explained by the other allowing me to have a stronger image and idea of what the story is like. After listening to all the presentation, I thought that there were few movements and gestures. Same as the previous presentation, most of them were trembling and continuously saying "um" and "uh".  From today's lesson, I learned that the story the audience could imagine can change a lot by the detail contained in the presentation and how the presentation is presented.I will be consious in trying not to say "u...
