In this class, we watched the trailer of the famous Disney movie "Starwars". I believe everyone in the same age group as myself would have heard of the title "Starwars" at least one time in their life. Starwars was created by  George Walton Lucas Jr. in the year 1977. The genre and the massive scale of the SF world attracted many people. Starting off with America, the popularity of Starwars had spread globally. One suprising fact I learned was that, Starwars was bought by Disney. Before knowing this, I thought that Disney was the owner of this work ever since the creation of this work had started.  After watching the trailer, we watched a video of foreign starwars fan's reaction to Luke Skywalker's apperaence. Before watching this video, I had no idea in what the story would be like as I have only watched Starwars for only several episodes. However, the fan's reaction made it 100 times easier for me to understand the story, the charator, and the excitem...

Today, we learned the history of how Christianity was treated in Scotland. Henry viii, the king of England in the early 1500s had multiple marriage with 6 woman and had many children. However, due to the near blood relation, his family tree ended in the year between 1660~1670. Because his family tree had ended, there were nobody to inherit the role of being the king. After understanding Henry Viii's family tree, Mr.Paterson mentioned the phrase "Union of the crowns".  This "Union of the crowns" refers to the union of the country, which was established by becoming the king of England and the Kingdom of Ireland. In the year 1680, James whom was the king wanted to become a cathartic which engaged him in moving into Ireland where many cathartic lived. Thereafter,  the King of Scotland and England made up a cooperative relationship.

In this lesson, we were told about how Scotland was treated in the UK. Some examples were Scotland made small in the BBC world map and news telling fake facts about the country. Scotland used to hold 8% of the UK population, 5% of the UK land are and 66% of the UK sea area. Despite being treated poorly, Scotland played a huge role to the UK.  In 1999, England moved the sea boarder line, leading in Scotland to have a smaller sea area then they used to have. If Scotland becomes independent, they can take back their sea area as they aren’t classified as the same country. Plus, they can keep the oil, water, electricity by themselves leading for the country to have the chance to become the top richest countries in the world. After hearing these facts, I had the thought that there are lots of merits for Scotland becoming an independent country.  There were attempts for Scotland trying to become independent. In the year 2014, Scotland had the independence vote. However, more th...

In this class, we continued watching the video we watched in the previous class. This day's section mainly focoused on how coorporation advertise their company to their nearby residents. In particular, it was about Pfizer's employees talking to the citizens during the rush hour when most buissnessman go to their work.  As the film went on going, we learned that some people were boarding the subway without paying the ticket fee. In order to prevent this issue, Pfizer installed large ticket gates containing large logos of their company to the station also as to spread their name familarity to people. One funny point I thought was when the Pfizer manager introduced the station staff caller. The machine was functioning well, however there was no response. From this scene, I thought that the company was advertising wrongly. I had impressions of the company installing machines with having their advertisment purpose the priority basis.  I personally thought that this company ha...

This class, we continued watching “The Corporation”. Continuing from the last weeks class, the film was about the company advertisement. Last weeks class mainly introduced the Pfizer, while the film we watched in this lesson was about Amazon.    Amazons way of advertising was to send products in large parcels to make their logo stand out clearly which makes people remember the existence of Amazon. I also have bought products on Amazon several times and had the same thoughts of not needing such a big parcel for a small product. Most product consumers including I trash these cardboard boxes, so it is just a waste of natural resources.    I thought that, By sending products in the perfect sized parcel would reduce in the amount of waste it would produce leading in a Eco society.

In this class, we were told about the war between the UK and Iraq. Tanks used in this war could bounce off rockets and bullets from the opposing country. Despite being covered with numerous number of steel armors, rockets containing Uranium could easily destroy these tanks. When the rocket explodes the tank, the dust containing the radioactive substances flows on to the wind causing small children living in nearby villages to become cancer.  Also, when I was heard that the UK stopped imports of pencil, bulls, medicine, wood and oil into Iraq, I honestly had frustrations.  I believe that countries have no right to stop imports of essential needs no mater what reasons they have. Having this war done, there are still lots of wars going on somewhere on the same planet we all live in.  I wish peace, harmony and freedom will become equal in every country in the close future.

27th October 2021

On this day, we watched a documentary with contained films of how the daily life of American people affects the environment. Examples were card boxes coming from online shopping such as Amazon and Plastic rubbish that were being littered.    Not only rubbish but organic substances were also harming the environment. One of the films that surprised me the most was the moment where the river was full of pig droppings. Because the pigs were kept squeezed inside small cages, the dropping becomes one big pile and enters the river. The correspondence of the river purification also surprised me. Despite having the need to purify the river water before entering the sea, the river manager slack off the process of purifying. This lead the ocean to be full of pig droppings affecting the environment of marine life's. The one who is responsible for these pollutions are still not decided.   As my reflection, I thought that the need of thinking about the environment is as impo...
