WH book review (chapter 10~41)

After thinking about his decision, Manjiro decided to go to America and made a farewell to the rest of the Japanese fisherman. Manijiro hoped on the ship and sailed for a long period of time. Upon reaching America, he was welcomed by Captain Whitfields wife at the port and was brought to their house as their child. Tradition, laws, politics and nearly everything was completly different from Japan. Some people who witnessed Manjiro discriminated him by the look of his face,clothes and language.  As days passed by, Manjiro was getting used in the lifestyle in America and people around him no longer discriminated him any more.One day, Captain whitfield told Manjiro that he will be sailing again and will not come back to America for quite a long time. Manjiro and Captain whitfield discussed and decided to let Manjiro stay in America. After Captain whitfield left America, Manjiro worked hard in school and took good care of his new family. While his English got better, he started to recognize the difference of the politics in America and Japan. After several long year, Captain whitfeild suddenly arrived at the port of America. As it was a sudden event, Manjiro couldn't hide his expression and dashed to Captain whitfeild. Upon making a long reunion, Manjiro was told by Captain whitfield that he could take him back to his home country, Japan.  After hearing this suprising news, Manjiro's expression of happy changed to a shock. Several days later, Manjiro boarded the ship and headed to Japan. Manjiro had a feeling of been excited to have the chance to get back to his home country, but also had a sad feeling of not wanting to say a farewell with Captain whitfield at the same time. On his return to Japan, he was imprisoned for being a "spy" of a foreign country. Japan had isoletaed itself from the world for more than two hundred years by then. As the Japanese dynasty changed, the new emperor admired Manjiro's knowledge of the world and of the English language and made him become the teacher for his children. Eventually, Manjiro taught English, Maths, sea navigation,shipbuilding and also wrote and translated English books into Japanese .Gradually, he intiated the whaling industry to Japan and became an interpreter of the first Japanese embassy. Manjiro's influence on the political powers eventually led to the end of Japan's isolationism in 1854. Manjiro in a honor was awarded the tiltle of Samurai, despite been born as a fisherman.
