October 6th 2020 (My presentation date)
The time for me to present has finally came. Throughout this past one month,I have been observing and listening to my classmates. Although the deadline of creating the slides and the time given us to prepare was quite short, I managed to get the process done quickly by the help of my friends and the simple explanation of the overall outline from Mr.Paterson.
At first,I wasn't afraid and thought that the only thing I should do was to talk about the book like what the rest had done. But, by the time I stood in front of the class, my heart started pounding and I felt extremely nervous. There were roughly 3 points which I was mostly thinking in mind which were to have eye-contact,movement during the presentation and trying not to say as much "uh" and "um". As I started to talk about the book, I thought that I did pretty much a great job in trying to have eye contact with the audiences and adjusting the voice volume so that my words doesn't get muffled by the mask. Also, though I accidentally said "um" throuout the presentation, I don't think I said it too much which could acctually influence the audience to lose concentration in the presentation. However, I started to notice that I had missed out some important information to notify after finishing the presentation. Not just that but, after having a deep look in the video of my presentation, I realized that I only moved one time in overall which I couldn't even notice while I was going on each slide. The problem that I am most concerned about is my hand movement. I kept crossing both my arms in front of me at times when I wasn't doing any hand gestures. As what my teacher said, it gave weak image of the prominent of my presentation. Finally,I was realized by my teacher that I should've final checked so that I could have unified all the images I added the previous day in the excatly the same size and added some background image for the "one last thing" part.
I will make use of the mistakes and the problems I made so that I could make improvements in the slide and the presentations.
